As Foundation rounds up 2024 Mathematics Competition
History was made on Sunday 22nd December, 2024 when dignitaries and enthusiastic crowd gathered at Community Primary School Lude Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA for the commissioning of two magnificent classroom blocks which the President/CEO of Amaraya Foundation, Comrade Amarachi Kingsley Ogu (Ugwumba I of Mbaise) renovated in loving memory of his beloved parents, Late Ezinna Pius Uzodimma Ogu and Late Ezinne Roseline Chinyere Ogu whose humanitarian legacies remain evergreen.
The historic event which was chaired by Chief Peter Ojilere who stood in for former Nigerian Ambassador to Mozambique, Amb Ozor Nwobu commenced with an opening prayer said by Rev Fr Fortunatus Efechi Marizu by 3pm.
The CEO of Amaraya Foundation was later ushered into the arena with musical troupes and the event commenced in earnest. Kolanut were presented to the guests by the CEO and it was blessed by the traditional ruler of Lude Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Cyril Uwaoma. After the Kolanut presentation rituals, the Chairman of the occasion presented his opening speech followed by that of the Headmistress, Mrs Eunice Ukah. At this point, the Chairman of the Renovation Committee, Mr Koké Brutus Alozie and his team stepped out and presented the keys of the magnificent classroom blocks to the CEO of Amaraya Foundation, Comr Amarachi Kingsley Ogu (Ugwumba I of Mbaise) who later handed them over to the Headmistress of the School.
The dignitaries at the event later moved to the building where the CEO cut the ribbon signaling the commissioning of two magnificent structures after which Executive Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Chief Larry Obinna Chikwe unveiled the school monument signaling their dedication to the loving memory of the CEO’s departed parents.
The second phase of the event which was the award ceremony for the 4th edition of All Mbaise Senior Secondary Schools Mathematics Competition (AMSSSMC) took place inside the hall of one of the newly commissioned magnificent classroom blocks where the DG of the Foundation, Dr Kelechi Oguamanam presented his welcome address. After the welcome address, the Secretary General of the Foundation as well as the Chairman of the planning Committee, Dr K.C Onyewuenyi opened the floor for the delivery of academic lecture and presentation of awards. The academic Lecture tagged FOUNDATION FOR MATHEMATICAL EXCELLENCE was delivered by a seasoned Mathematician, Mr Benneth Nze.

After the lecture followed the awards. After the award for the overall best winner, Miss Adiele Shelly-Ann Somtochukwu, that of first runner up and second runner up followed. There were also special prizes for 15 other candidates with outstanding performance. All the awardees were presented with plaques and certificates before their decoration with medals. The CEO also announced the registration of 2025 WAEC Examination for all the award winners. He also announced the extension of the Mathematics Competition to Abia State and its environs to hunt for more talents.

The Foundation also presented special awards to those who have distinguished themselves in various humanitarian Services. The first was the posthumous award to the late parents of the CEO by HRH Eze Leo Nwokocha (Atodire I of Umunneato Nguru). The award was received by the head of the family, Pastor (Dr) Fimbar Emeka Ogu on behalf of their late parents. Other awardees were HRH Eze Cyril Uwaoma, Mrs Ugochi Oguledo-Njoku and Rev Fr Fortunatus Efechi Marizu.

There were goodwill messages from guests and the presentation of textbooks to the School. There were also announcements of financial support and partnerships by some special guests. A seasoned professor of Mathematics, Prof Kevin Osondu announced special prizes for the best three Amaraya Mathematicians of the year.
After some musical displays and calisthenics, refreshment galore opened.
Dignitaries at the event were the Executive Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Chief Larry Obinna Chikwe, Hon Gabriel Impec Anyanwu, HRH Eze Cyril Uwaoma, HRH Eze Leo Nwokocha, HRH Eze Godwin Obasi, Prof Kevin Osondu, Prof Eddie Oparaoji, Pastor (Dr) Fimbar Ogu, Rev Fr (Dr) Donatus Uwaeme, Rev Fr Bertrand Nnamdi, Rev Fr Jude Osondu of Mater TV, Rev Sr Akunna John-Emezi of Ancilla Hospital Ihitte, priests and pastors of Christ, different groups and men and women from different walks of life. The awardees were accompanied to the event by their elated parents, family members and friends.
The closing prayer was said by the National Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Madagascar, Pastor (Dr) Fimbar Ogu.
After the event, the CEO of the Foundation distributed 100 bags of rice to indigent women who graced the occasion. The women expressed gratitude to the CEO and his Foundation for remembering them during the Christmas season and prayed God to continue to bless and keep him and his family.
