The Ahiara Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Organization (ADCCWO) on Thursday 17th August, 2023, honoured the CEO of Amaraya Foundation, Comr Amarachi K. Ogu with a golden title of AKU RUO ULO in appreciation of his deep commitments and inestimable support to the Church and Community. The award which is the first to be received by an individual was conferred on him as part of activities marking this year’s Ahiara Diocesan August Meeting at Mater Ecclesiae Cathedral Ahiara.
The AKU RUO ULO award was conferred on Comr Ogu by the CWO Chaplain, Rev Fr (Prof) Boniface Nwigwe who represented the Metropolitan Archbishop of Owerri Province and Apostolic Administrator of Ahiara Diocese, Most Rev Dr Lucius Ugorji and assisted by the Ahiara Diocesan CWO President, Dr(Mrs) Chidimma Ikpeama.
Receiving the award in behalf of the CEO, the Director General (DG) of the Foundation, Dr Kelechi Oguamanam and other members of the Foundation chronicled the numerous philanthropic gestures of Comr Ogu in our society and thanked the Women Group for recognizing his undying love for humanity. He expressed optimism that the award will spur him into greater philanthropic actions and urged the church to always pray for God’s continuous blessings upon him for greater service to God and humanity. He concluded with an appreciation gift of N1million to the Church which attracted a resounding applause from the enthusiastic audience.
Many members of Amaraya Foundation, Women groups, friends and well wishers were on ground to show solidarity and support to Comr Ogu whom they described as “a great achiever who has distinguished himself in the service of God and humanity”.
After the event, there were fanfare and interview by newsmen. All the persons interviewed described the award conferred on Comr Ogu as well deserved judging from his numerous selfless services to humanity.
